It is important to pay respect to the land and those that were on the land before us. Through colonialism, racism, and capitalism we displace communities and only think of the future and what “can be.”

As architectural professionals it is our duty to pay homage to the past while designing for the future, and incorporating elements of a specific locations’ rich shared history in our design process.

We need to design with communities and not just for communities.
